It is a surprisingly common problem, however.<\/p>\n<p>So, to figure out how to get slime out of hair, we need to know what exactly slime is. Most commercial and DIY slimes include things such as glue, Borax, baking soda, and food coloring. It has high oil content and is not water-soluble which makes it fun to play with but also hard to get rid of.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, let\u2019s get down to business.<\/p>\n<h3>How do you get slime out of hair?<\/h3>\n<p>Here are the best methods we\u2019d recommend:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A quick shower with a hair conditioner.<\/strong> Thankfully, rinse-out conditioners do work great against slime. If the slime spot is near the hair\u2019s end you can skip the shower and just dip the hair in a basin of hot water. If the slime is near the scalp, take a shower and after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boldbarber.com\/hair-conditioner-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the conditioner<\/a> use shampoo on the scalp as well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Oils work too.<\/strong> Vegetable oil, coconut oil, olive oil, and baby oil are all great at dissolving slime. Oily foods such as mayo and peanut butter can be used as well if you don\u2019t have anything else at your disposal but those are not as effective and are significantly more unpleasant and gross to use. Apply a little at a time and use your fingers to massage the slimed spots of your hair. Then, use a comb to remove as much of it as possible. Taking a warm shower with shampoo and conditioner is also something you\u2019d likely want to do afterward.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Vinegar is the nuclear solution.<\/strong> For really big and stubborn globs of slime, a solution of 2\/3 white or cider vinegar with 1\/3 warm water will be your best bet. Remember to put on a pair of swimming goggles as vinegar can sting the eyes. After that, just put some of the solution on the slimed spots of your hair, massage it with your fingers and remove the bigger parts with a comb. Then, hop into the shower to get rid of the rest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that\u2019s about it. Slime can certainly be annoying to deal with so supervising your kids when playing with slime is advisable as is trying to instruct them properly.
